All the creative inspiration you’re looking for

Giochiamo ai giochi

Curated by patCHquilt (Swiss Quilters Association)

This year, we have invited patCHquilt to Abilmente for a unique experience dedicated to enthusiasts of games and textile arts.

We invite you to discover an interactive and engaging exhibition featuring a selection of board games, from traditional classics to the most original creations.

Each game in the collection has been conceived and handcrafted by members of the Association using exclusively textile materials, as part of the patCHquilt Challenge initiative.

Omaggio ai Fiori d'Artista

Curated by the Association Sul Filo dell'Arte

At Abilmente, a new ever-evolving installation is taking shape, designed to grow and expand with each edition, presented by the Sul Filo dell’Arte Association.

Nature has always been a source of inspiration for artists. Here, flowers and forms take center stage in tributes to works that move and inspire. With contributions from our members and highly creative artisans, the exhibition will feature 2D and 3D floral artworks crafted with crochet, knitting, weaving, embroidery and mixed textile techniques.

Anyone wishing to take part in the spring or autumn exhibitions can bring their contribution directly to Abilmente 2026 in the form of simple flower bouquets, realistic in size and color (main artist: Mother Nature) or tributes to a painting or sculpture by a recognized artist, reinterpreted through textile art.

Quinto Elemento: dialogo tra materia, cosmo e algoritmo

Curated by DAMSS ART

Technique: fiber art

The final piece in the series, The Fifth Element, explores the nature of existence, where the tangible meets the universal.

At the heart of the work lies the Fibonacci Spiral, a visual representation of the Quintessence and of “divine mathematics.” This perfect proportion brings order to chaos and creates balance among the elements.

The artwork transforms humble fibres, derived from reclaimed textiles and recovered industrial waste materials, into a diagram of universal perfection, inviting viewers to recognize the Golden Ratio as the principle that connects the human and the cosmic.

Vita Viva

Curated by Ilaria Quadranti

A collective gesture that transforms fragility into beauty.

Vita Viva is a collaborative textile installation inspired by resilience and our ability to overcome moments of collective crisis.

At the heart of the installation are the filters from Covid face masks, transformed from symbols of isolation and protection into a celebration of inner strength and the value of life. 238 participants decorated 309 filters through embroidery, sewing, drawing and writing, creating a shared narrative of collective memory.

The installation brings past and present into dialogue through a 17th-century chair, an antique handwoven linen cloth and a copper tree where, in a symbolic metamorphosis, the filters become leaves, representing rebirth, breath and hope.

L'arte che nobilita:  when imperfection becomes beauty

Curated by the Corporazione delle Arti

Fabrics destined to be discarded, marked by imperfections rejected by the market. Yet where others see flaws, the Textile Arts see a blank canvas.

Using only needle, thread, creativity and passion, they transform every imperfection into exquisite embroidery and every fabric into a garment worthy of the world's most prestigious haute couture runways.

This travelling collection is touring Italy to demonstrate that true beauty is born from skilled hands, patience, and a deep love for the textile arts.
