Happy Art: a tribute to Romero Britto

Curated by Associazione Sul filo dell'Arte
Sponsored by: L'angolo delle Idee (Fiumicino) and Vlieseline

Techniques used: crochet and knitting

For us, knitting and crocheting – especially when done in a group – are deeply relaxing and joyful.
Romero Britto’s artworks add energy, vitality and positivity through their vibrant colours.

The exhibition will include a guided tour, an interactive area, and a collective work in progress.
There will also be a fun pop-style badge-making workshop within the space.

Ego Et Artifex

The Swiss quilters’ association patCHquilt presents the collection “Ego Et Artifex”, the result of the 2024 challenge. Participating members selected a work by an artist featured in the permanent collection of Switzerland’s largest museum, the Kunsthaus Zürich, and reinterpreted it through textile art.

40 artworks will be on display at Abilmente, reflecting the association’s mission to promote textiles as a true art form. Each piece is accompanied by an image of the original artwork and a descriptive text.

Fiber Art: La tessitura della natura

Curated by DAMSS ART
Technique: Fiber Art

This textile artwork is not just a decorative panel – it’s a bridge between past and present. Inspired by Flemish art, renowned for its meticulous attention to detail, the piece blends traditional beauty with a modern, urgent message: the need to protect our environment.

Just as Flemish masters used painting to celebrate nature and everyday life, DAMSS employs fiber art to turn fabric into a symbol of respect for the Earth.

Rich in realistic detail, the piece features fruits, flowers and rural landscapes. This precision isn’t just a showcase of technical skill – it’s a way to draw attention to the often-overlooked beauty of nature and its increasing vulnerability due to human impact.

A filo d'Acqua

Cutared by Luisa De Santi

The collective installation consists of cascades of crocheted and knitted ripples, fish, and seaweed, originally placed along the parapets of the main bridges over the river in the center of Sacile. It is a project that aims to celebrate the beauty and poetry of a natural aquatic environment, a symbol of strength, renewal, and eternal flow. The pieces that comprise the work are being fundraised by free donations for the AVO Association of Hospital Volunteers of Pordenone.
