ORIGINI
Curated by EQA (European Quilt Association)
This year once again, we have invited EQA to Abilmente to showcase the finest European quilt production. The Association, which brings together 20 member states including Italy, has long worked to promote quilting beyond geographical, cultural and linguistic borders, creating connections through textile art.
The theme of the exhibition is “Origins,” understood as the beginning or growth of something ethnic, cultural, linguistic, or scientific. We invited EQA members to freely interpret this theme through an original piece of textile art, and 84 quilters from 19 European countries accepted the challenge.
The awards will be presented during a small ceremony held within the exhibition on Friday, February 20 at 12:00 PM.
Omaggio ai Fiori d'Artista
Curated by the Association Sul Filo dell'Arte
Tribute to Yayoi Kusama - Flowers That Bloom Tomorrow
At Abilmente, a new ever-evolving installation is taking shape, designed to grow and expand with each edition, presented by the Sul Filo dell’Arte Association.
Nature has always been a source of inspiration for artists. Here, flowers and forms take center stage in tributes to works that move and inspire. With contributions from our members and highly creative artisans, the exhibition will feature 2D and 3D floral artworks crafted with crochet, knitting, weaving, embroidery and mixed textile techniques.
Anyone wishing to take part in the spring or autumn exhibitions can bring their contribution directly to Abilmente 2026 in the form of simple flower bouquets, realistic in size and color (main artist: Mother Nature) or tributes to a painting or sculpture by a recognized artist, reinterpreted through textile art.
